2000 Honda Civic Type R

This 2000 Honda Civic Type R (EK9) is an authentic No Good Racing team vehicle that represents a unique piece of Japanese Honda and Kanjo culture. Originally campaigned in Japan by a member of the legendary Osaka-based No Good Racing team, the car wears the iconic Red Bull-inspired livery that became one of the most recognizable designs associated with the group.

No Good Racing is among the most well-known teams to emerge from Osaka’s Kanjozoku street-racing scene, a subculture centered around lightweight, high-revving Honda Civics driven on the Hanshin Expressway loop. As Japanese tuning culture gained worldwide recognition, No Good Racing became one of the most recognizable names within the Honda community, and this particular EK9 became one of the team’s best-known cars.

The car was displayed at the 2020 Osaka Auto Messe, one of Japan’s premier automotive exhibitions, where it debuted in its current Red Bull-themed appearance. Its popularity extended beyond the enthusiast community, leading INNO64 to produce an officially licensed die-cast model based on this exact vehicle in 2021. Few authentic Kanjo-associated vehicles have received that distinction, making this EK9 an especially significant example of modern Japanese automotive culture.
